Jason is passionate about cycling. While he has achieved top honours at the Provincial level in both mountain biking and road racing, Jason is currently demonstrating his desire to push himself further by transitioning to Pro-Elite in 2010. In addition to his love of competition, he strives to increase awareness and participation in cycling as a family activity and to promote overall fitness.

He feels that coaching is a natural progression in his efforts, and is excited to share his enthusiasm and experience with others. You will see Jason chasing the podium and cheering on fellow competitors at Ontario Cup races all season.

Marten brings over 20 years of competitive athletic experience in the areas of Road Racing/Cycling, XC Mountain Bike Racing, Track and Field and Cross Country running among various other athletic activities. Marten currently successfully competes in Master 1 Road Racing Category.

In addition to his competitive background, Marten also brings a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiolgy and further coaching certification through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP).

• Bachelor of Arts Kinesiology and Sociology – York University
• National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP)

Racing Experience:


• Master 1 Road Racing and Master Expert XC Mountain Bike Racing
   – 2009 London Centennial Wheelers Road Racing Club Champion
• 3 years varsity Track and Field
   – 1998 4 x 400m bronze medal varsity champion
• 20+ years of competitive athletic experience
